About Christy's Salon

We proudly opened our doors on September 15, 1988 on First Street in beautiful downtown Friday Harbor, Washington. We grew, flourished, and were able to purchase our new salon ten years later at 300 Spring St. the first day of spring 1998. We will be celebrating our 20th anniversary!

We are conveniently located within walking distance to shopping, the ferry, airport, and hotels. We take pride in our friendly, professional, nurturing service. Come to Christy’s to receive quality service and hair care with attention to detail.

Christy's Story

Following my mothers’ example, I trained and owned my own salon in Detroit, Michigan for several years. I have been married for 21 years and have one son. I moved to Friday Harbor in 1982 and opened Christy’s Island Salon in 1988. I have been a licensed cosmetologist for 39 years.

Over those years, I have learned how individual each head of hair is and that in order to give quality service I must give each customer exclusive custom service according to his or her needs and desires. The correct hair care products for each person are also just as important and changing conditions require a change in product use.

I have passed this knowledge on to my staff and have asked them to serve their customers with the same consideration. My philosophy in life is "Live and Let Live".
